Trauma & Release

Sharon Porter

Boundaries are conscious and healthy ways to protect ourselves from emotional harm. Some people have great difficulty setting boundaries, this difficulty usually derives from child abuse. To the unconscious any abuse, no matter how mild or severe, is breaking a boundary however most abused children know intuitively that if you try to resist the abuse, you just get hurt all the more.

Sharon describes the rupturing of her boundaries due to domestic violence from a past relationship. She explains the vibrant creativity that can come through healing trauma and discusses TRE, the Trauma Release Exercises of Dr David Berceli. Sharon shares how she used TRE to help a client recover after the death of his wife.
