The Darker Side Of Life Theory Of Trauma

Dr Allan N Schore

‘The growth of the baby’s brain literally requires positive interaction between mother and infant. The development of cerebral circuits depends on it.’
~Dr Allan N Schore

Dr Schore explains that there was no theory of trauma in psychology until the late 90’s. Progress in brain science and the understanding of emotions allowed this to come into being. Bear explains his journey with trauma through abuse that he lived unaware of for 43 years. After his father died, body memories began to return while he was on The Hoffman Process. Dr Schore explains that to be able to get to grips with trauma we need to get into the unconscious right brain as that is where trauma is held.
